Day 1: Rishikesh to Barsu (7545 ft) - 220kms, 6-7 hrs drive
The adventure begins with an early morning departure from Rishikesh, as we drive towards Barsu, a picturesque village nestled at the foot of the Himalayas. En route, we pass through the serene towns of Chamba and Uttarkashi, each offering glimpses of Uttarakhand's natural beauty. The drive, along the Bhagirathi river, is captivating as we approach Barsu, the base camp for our Dayara Bugyal trek. Barsu is a quaint village located 32 km from Uttarkashi. Upon arrival, check into your guest house and unwind for the night, preparing for the journey ahead.
Day 2: Barsu to Barnala (8530 ft) - 8-9 Km, 6-7 hrs trek
After breakfast, we begin our trek towards Barnala, located 8-9 km from Barsu. The route is a gradual ascent, passing through dense forests of Rhododendrons, Silver Oaks, and Deodars, creating a natural canopy. Barnala marks the starting point of the famous Dayara Bugyal meadows. As you trek, be prepared to witness the vast expanse of green meadows, with views of the distant Himalayan peaks. The meadow's beauty is unparalleled, with the trail meandering through alpine landscapes. Upon reaching Barnala, set up camp and enjoy an evening surrounded by nature's tranquility.
Day 3: Barnala to Dayara Bugyal
On this day, we head towards the Dayara Bugyal meadow, a vast and stunning alpine plateau. The journey reveals breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains like Srikanth, Rudregaira, Gangotri I, II & III, Jaonli, and many more peaks, including Draupadi ka Danda and Black Peak. The vast expanse of meadows beneath the mighty Himalayas makes this trek truly memorable. You can also opt for an additional trek to Bakaria Top, the highest point of Dayara Bugyal. The steep ascent rewards you with a panoramic view of snow-capped mountains, deep valleys, and Uttarkashi in the distance. After soaking in the views, descend back to the Dayara Bugyal meadow to camp for the night.
Day 4: Dayara Bugyal to Gui (7873 ft) - 7 Km, 4-5 hrs trek
On the fourth day, we begin our descent to Gui, a small grassland situated in the alpine forests. The 4-5 hour trek takes us through beautiful stretches of alpine meadows, sub-alpine forests, and sparkling rivulets. Gui is known for its tranquility, surrounded by forested landscapes and the occasional dwarf Rhododendron. After reaching Gui, set up camp and relax amidst the peaceful surroundings.
Day 5: Gui to Raithal (4.5 Km) - 3-4 hrs trek
After breakfast, we begin the final leg of our trek towards Raithal, a picturesque village. The 3-4 hour descent is through lush forests and winding trails, with nature’s beauty at every step. Upon reaching Raithal, a vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Rishikesh. Enjoy the drive as you reflect on the unforgettable journey through the Dayara Bugyal trek. The tour concludes upon your arrival in Rishikesh.
